Supporting Our Vision
Superior quality
Since the very beginning of Roadloft, our vision has been to make vanlife accessible while maintaining ecological integrity. Opposed to planned obsolescence and committed to sustainable development, the best way to achieve our vision was through the creation of smart, practical products that exceed quality standards and sustainable design.
We’re proud to see that—unlike motorhomes, which depreciate rapidly—our removable conversion kits retain their value, even after several years of use.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Lessons from the road
Before creating Roadloft, we spent three years living and traveling across North America in a converted minivan. Life on the road taught us what matters in terms of design and manufacturing. It helped us create kits that are highly optimized in terms of layout and space efficiency.
Prototyping
To support our vision, we tested a full series of prototypes with the help of our industrial designer. After over 13 prototypes, we launched the first Minivan Conversion Kit. We repeated this process for our other kits, and now we have an optimal formula: lightweight, strong, highly moisture-resistant kits that maximize space and retain their value over time.
State-of-the-art manufacturing
Our advanced production line combines cutting-edge technology with the attention to details of our team members.
Surrounding ourselves with the best
We work with experts in design and industrial manufacturing processes, with whom we developed a unique manufacturing method and expertise.
Our know-how
OPTIMIZE SPACE
Drawing from our years on the road, we focused on reducing unnecessary handling and optimizing space. In all our products, we successfully integrated a functional kitchen, multiple easy-access storage spaces, a super-comfy modular bed (single or double), and a layout that offers panoramic views. Depending on the kit, you’ll also get a toilet space, table, and bench.
MATERIALS AND PROTECTION
To achieve our premium quality standards, we combined the best manufacturing processes: durable materials, precision cutting, multi-layer wood protection and vibration-resistant assembly.
BEST PRACTICES
During our years on the road, we met people who became ill from mold in poorly protected gear. That’s why we apply best practices in wood protection, using a non-toxic varnish at every stage and sanding layer of our kits. These steps are non-negotiable for us because of how important they are to your health.
SOLID AND LIGHTWEIGHT
We use marine-grade poplar plywood sourced from sustainably managed forests for its lightness and resistance to moisture. This wood, paired with our manufacturing, makes the kits easy to handle and helps reduce fuel consumption by not adding unnecessary weight to your vehicle.
Technology
Manufacturing Without Compromise
HIGH-QUALITY VARNISH
When you sleep and live in your vehicle for extended periods, your equipment must be safe and free from toxic fumes. That’s why we use a proven, non-toxic varnish—even when exposed to high heat.
The varnish is applied in such a way as to protect every surface and cut edge, including the sides. Because what good is a coating if it is not applied to all surfaces?
BUILT TO LAST
As our designer often says: “Anything mechanical can break.” So our experts developed assembly methods that resist road vibrations. We minimize the use of hinges and screws to ensure your equipment lasts.
MINIMAL HANDLING
On the road, even small inconveniences can get frustrating. Our designs allow easy access to luggage thanks to multiple storage compartments and ventilation panels.
Roadloft conversion kits are divided into modules weighing between 6 and 13 kg each. They’re compact to store, lightweight to carry, and easy to install and remove.
TRAVEL IN COMFORT
If you’re six feet tall, you’ll sleep comfortably in a Roadloft bed—they’re designed with that in mind.
Many people think mattress thickness defines comfort, but it’s actually density that matters. It ensures optimal and lasting support. Our mattress, chosen by a kinesiologist, is high-density and covered with a waterproof, washable cover.
ENJOY THE VIEW
Thanks to the open view from your vehicle’s trunk, you can admire all the breath taking landscapes on your route — whether you’re sitting at the table enjoying a great meal, or just lying in bed. Roadloft lets you fully immerse yourself in stunning sceneries.

After having an RV for ten years
"We are very satisfied with our Roadloft conversion kit. It is obvious that this equipment was designed by experienced travelers.
The space is well thought out for comfort, storage and versatility. It's appreciated for our small getaways and our big trips, while using the same vehicle for work. We used to own an RV for ten years and we don't regret the change.
Roadloft fulfills our need to own a camper that is smaller, cheaper, polyvalent and discrete. We are proud to support young entrepreneurs."

First Class Quality and Ingenious Design
"We are extremely pleased with our Roadloft kit. The qualiy is first class. Very ingenious design.
We drove to the Yukon this summer, 20,000 km, camped in wonderful places and we were very comfortable in our minivan. I actually miss not sleeping in it. Many people approached us when they saw us pulling out the drawers and setting up for a meal. All were very impressed.
Now we have it tucked away for the winter and it takes up very little space. We are already planning for an east coast trip this summer. I can't think of one negative thing to say."
